Nowadays, being a Bike Hotel on Lake Garda means offering a range of services and facilities specifically designed for cyclists and cycling enthusiasts. These bike hotels are ideal for those traveling by bike - whether for tourism or sport -, and who want to enjoy their stay in complete comfort.
Bike storage, equipped workshop, laundry service, bike rental/partnerships with bike rentals, experienced guides, transport service, dedicated catering, wellness hub, and medical assistance are just some of the solutions that characterize this particular type of accommodation. But what can really make a difference in front of an offer, now wider than ever, of Bike Hotels?
Where, how, when and, above all, with whom
Here at the Hotel Santoni Freelosophy in Torbole on Lake Garda, we have long wondered what, regardless of specific details and services, should be our distinctive feature in such a competitive location as Garda Trentino. The answer we gave ourselves is: the people. Us... with our passion for hospitality, but also and above all, for bicycles and the territory.
Hotel Santoni Freelosophy offers: our favorite routes around Garda Trentino
1. Climbing towards Passo Tremalzo with a mountain bike
The founder of the very first Bike Hotel in Garda Trentino could only be a true bike lover. Do you want to know the mountain bike trail that our director Fabio Toccoli, as a local, would recommend? It is the ascent to Passo Tremalzo.
Over 2000 meters of elevation gain and almost 70 kilometers for a route that, starting directly from our hotel, touches some of the most interesting points for local tourism: the Ponale road, Passo Rocchetta, Passo Guil, Passo Tremalzo, Lake Ampola, and Lake Ledro.
2. And if the bike were an e-bike? Fabio suggests: trail to Malga Campo!
An initial stretch on the cycle path allows you to leave the hotel behind and reach the inhabited center of Arco. Then it continues with a route of over 40 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1500 meters through various wonders of Garda Trentino and the Valle dei Laghi such as the Castle of Drena, Luch, Malga Campo, Malga Perini, Braila, the Caproni Forest, and the famous Policromuro climbing wall.
3. Road bike: riding to Monte Bondone
And like every respectable Bike Hotel, the Hotel Santoni Freelosophy also has guides and experts ready to accompany you on your best two-wheeled adventures around Lake Garda. For guests more confident with road bikes, for example, the challenge is undoubtedly at least one of the Great Climbs of Trentino: Monte Bondone.
The climb to Monte Bondone from Cadine via Sopramonte is 16.3 km long, has an elevation gain of 1206 meters, and an average gradient of 7.4%. The highest point is at 1651 meters above sea level. The approach to the starting point goes through the entire Valle dei Laghi, exploring the small villages perched on the slopes of Gazza. A tour of great satisfaction.
4. Looking for a hybrid experience? Comano Terme with a gravel bike is Davide's proposal!
From Lake Garda to the Brenta Dolomites: all in a circular loop of less than 70 kilometers and 1000 meters of elevation gain. This gravel-friendly route starts from Torbole, climbs all of Garda Trentino up to Sarche, crosses the Limarò gorge, highlights the thermal area of Comano, encircles the Brenta peaks, crosses the Lomaso plateau, passes the Passo del Ballino, touches Lake Tenno, and gently descends towards Lake Garda, offering glimpses of nature as varied as they are wonderful.
5. Classic - the Monte Casale tour on a vintage bike
At Santoni, we love the classic style: it is no coincidence, nor for beauty, that you will find some old bicycles hanging on the walls, some still flaunting the number from L'Eroica Gaiole, with those numbers Fabio participated in L'Eroica. So if you also share this passion and want to spend a classic weekend, here is a route that we think is suitable, with a bit of spice: we are in the mountains after all.
Are you a bike lover, a sport lover, a freelosopher? The Hotel Santoni Freelosophy in Torbole on Lake Garda is just right for you! We are in Torbole on Lake Garda, a strategic crossroads to have access to that gigantic natural bike park that is Lake Garda.
